“Holy sh*t, this box is heavy”. Feedback on Barbarossa by a renowned game reviewer…

We were delighted to receive the following feedback from Richard at www.mataka.org on his receipt of his copy of Barbarossa.

I hope this gives you a good laugh.

I went and picked up the box containing Barbarossa this afternoon and after I signed for it, I went to pick it up my first thought was,

“Holy Shit is this box heavy, I hope it contains gold bullion.  LOL”

I think I can honestly say without a doubt that this was the heaviest game box that I have ever experienced in my 50 years as a gamer and my very next thought was

“knowing John and everyone it has to be one of the most researched games that they have ever released.”

Once I got home and opened the box and examined the game components my initial thoughts were that the counters were miniature works of art and the maps were gorgeous.  I don’t even want to talk about the charts and tables or all of the manuals.  They are also fantastic.

So, initial impression is that you have outdone yourself with the quality of the components of Barbarossa.

John, you and everyone at DE have really outdone yourselves with this game.  The quality is second to none.  I can honestly say that this is one of the highest quality games that I have ever seen.  It may be a “Monster Game” but the quality of the game components are second to none.

John, if you want to use any of my comments in any of your advertisements, please feel free to use them.  You deserve all the praise that you can get.
